'Jesus wants a real relationship with you, not a great performance'
parent requires performance before they love their child, it can be detrimental to their sense of self.
We all fail to meet character and moral standards both as children and adults. We need to be loved despite our shortcomings and failures. We know that we are fundamentally broken (we don’t have to look far to see the damage we’ve done in relationships), but we fundamentally need love. God made us to be loved.
It is a powerful thing to hear and take in “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son…” (Jn 3:16). Soak that in for a minute. Say it slowly a couple times, putting your name in place of ‘the world’. God’s love for us compelled Him to rescue us from the sin and brokenness in our lives. It isn’t because we did things right that God came to us in Jesus. It was because we needed Him. Listen to the next sentence Jesus says, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3:17). I am infinitely grateful that God’s love doesn’t depend on my performance. Rather, He loves me enough to forgive me, transform me, and lead me into His beautiful life.
God loves you and there is nothing you can do about it! Doesn’t matter how good you are or bad you are. God loves YOU and is on a rescue mission. Accept His love and live. Be part of His family here at Munholland to experience and share that with others.
Blessings and God’s love to everyone,
Jonathan
