Think on These Things

Focus. Think about this: whatever gets our attention gets us. The first part of change in our lives is what we focus on. Directing our thoughts to what we want to do in order to live abundantly in God’s Spirit is the way for godly change. For example, in a difficult relationship I should not focus on being angry and frustrated, I need to focus on being kind with my words and really listening to what others are saying. Do you get the difference? One pulls us towards death, the other towards life-giving relationships.

 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2)

 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things…— put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” (Eph 4:8-9)
