'Finding Joy Through Obedience'

“I find pleasure in obeying your commands”.

In Romans 12, Paul makes that connection: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” “Test God” is a good thing. It is trusting God, God’s promises, God’s design for you, so that you actually DO it. When we do – obey – God’s will, we will discover the life that is “good, pleasing, and perfect”.

Quite simply, obedience is the path to joy and to all that is good, true, and beautiful in this world. Human flourishing, that contemporary philosophers are fond of using, is found when we obey the designer of our lives, relationships, and world. Trust God. Obey God. And you will find the joy of life.

Blessings,
